ABOUT
DYPER is a subscription-based diaper service that delivers the highest quality bamboo-based compostable diapers directly to customer's doorstep each month.
DYPER diapers are free from chlorine, latex, alcohol, PVC, lotions, TBT or Phthalates. They're unprinted, unscented, soft to the touch, yet extremely durable and highly absorbent. DYPER packaging is made from oxo-degradable materials, and for each delivery DYPER purchases carbon offsets that actively promote reforestation.
DYPER subscribers can also opt-in to the first of its kind REDYPER program. REDYPER uses specially engineered UN Haz Mat shipping boxes to return soiled diapers for composting. The waste composted through this program is used in specialized applications, such as for vegetation in highway medians.
COMPANY DETAIL
Based in Scottsdale Arizona, DYPER was founded my Sergio Radovcic in 2014. DYPER have reinvented diapers creating the category’s first true diaper subscription service using technology and smart logistics to deliver the softest, most environmentally friendly Bamboo diapers directly to consumers.
DYPER’S Never Run Out service cleverly uses machine learning to gauge the amount of diapers you need monthly using the child’s weight as the guiding factor. Read more about DYPER’S approach to responsible diapering, carbon offsetting, the DYPER SOS Service, and their Military Discount. DYPER diapers are made with love in the USA.
In February 2020 DYPER partnered with TerraCycle to launch the REDYPER composting program in the U.S., making it turnkey for existing and new subscribers to safely return their soiled-diapers for composting.
"DYPER DIAPERS ARE FREE FROM CHLORINE, LATEX, ALCOHOL, PVC, LOTIONS, TBT OR PHTHALATES."
THE DEAL
We invested $20m into DYPER to support its expansion in the US and amplify its impact. The Craftory led the round, existing investor HCAP also participated.
Ernesto Schmitt, CO-FOUNDER & arch CRAFTER AT THE CRAFTORY, NOTED:
Diapers are a crappy category in which the incumbent brands have short-changed consumers for decades with products that are non-recyclable, generating mountains of landfill, and made with unsustainable and harsh materials that are bad for the planet and people. Sergio and his team at DYPER have chosen to attack the status quo fearlessly, and have successfully created the new category benchmark. It’s deeply impressive stuff. We look forward to supporting DYPER in wiping non-sustainable diapers off the bottom of the earth.
SERGIO RADOVCIC, FOUNDER & CEO OF DYPER, SAID:
“DYPER’s mission goes far beyond selling diapers, and similarly, The Craftory goes far beyond capital,” said Sergio Radovic, CEO and Founder of DYPER. “We’re thrilled to find a partner dedicated to taking on industry giants to affect real change, and look forward to scaling our mission of helping babies, parents and our planet, one diaper at a time.”
JAMIE SWANGO, CRAFT PARTNER DIGITAL AMPLIFICATION & PLATFORMS AT THE CRAFTORY COMMENTED:
Parenting a newborn can be stressful and exhausting - eco-guilt is something you shouldn’t have to worry about when your hands are full with an incontinent child. DYPER diapers represent only upside: No need to change consumer behaviour, superior product performance, sustainability built in. These are the diapers progressive moms and dads have been waiting for.
MORE DYPER
We all know the guilty truth about diapers: An estimated 27.4 billion disposable diapers are used annually in the US, resulting in 3.4 million tons of used diapers added to landfills each year.
Scientists estimate a discarded disposable diaper containing plastic takes approximately 450 years to decompose*. This makes diapers as environmentally dangerous as single use plastic bags with similar risks of micro plastics entering the environment.
The good news is that a growing number of diaper brands are trying to minimise their impact. The even better news is DYPER stands head and shoulders above the rest.
